Summer travel question?
spectacle asked:
I haven’t taken my kids on a vacation in 8 years. I’d love to be able to take them for at least a week this July to Hawaii. They have relatives there whom they’ve never met. Since I’m a single mom and on a budget paying $800 a ticket seems nearly impossible. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this? We’d have relatives to stay with so we wouldn’t need a hotel. My kids do so well in school and are great kids and I’d love to be able to reward them by giving them this vacation.
Leaving from San Jose, California.

I would definetly check out for the best fare. It shows almost all airlines (noteable exception being southwest) including ATA and all other airlines that would fly your route with price and scheduling info. Best of all, if you just fly one airline, it takes you directly to the airlines website for minimal booking fees.

I checked everywhere for you, and I see $426 round trip, total with tax, for Oakland-Honolulu with ATA around your dates. Best and cheapest to book direct from the airline: ATA are currently slightly cheaper to Kahului, Hilo, and Kona, as cheap as $399rt per ticket around your dates.
