So i am going to Hawaii in June. I am staying with friends so i wont need hotel, food, or car money. So how much should i save for activities and gifts?

    Better bring something for your friends, or you won’t have any when you leave.

    Yes, you WILL need money for food! Do you expect your friends to house you AND feed you for free? Wow. You should, at the very least, chip in for groceries and take them out for a nice meal at Duke’s or some other restaurant. It is very expensive to live in Hawaii and groceries are among the costliest items here. Everything — except that which is locally grown — has to be shipped in, so there are extra charges on everything. Don’t just assume that because you’re staying in someone’s home, the food is free. That’s just rude.
