any budget hotels in Kona, Hawaii?

    there is no “kona island”. kailua-kona is on the western side of the big island. there is also nothing inexpensive in hawaii. however, you can camp at volcano national park, on the eastern side of the island. if you rent a car it would only take a few hours to get to kailua-kona.

    I’m not sure what your budget is, but there’s a good selection here. Remember to take into account travelling time to the places you like, amenities, quality of the rooms and free inclusions which occur often with last minute deals.

    By the way, most car rental companies DO NOT rent car to campers.

    Kona Seaside. I stay there twice a year. Runs half what most do. Right off Alii Drive. Central location, pool, etc.

    If you are referring to the Big Island, them by suggestion is the Volcano House.
