Smarten up your restaurant with a real wood floor
Fashion is important in restaurants these days. You need to keep up to date with the trends. Gone are the days of plush carpets, soft lights and discrete alcoves. Now, it is a case of clean and simple lines, uncluttered with paraphernalia.
One solution is to redesign from the floor up and throw out those carpets, which probably look a bit shabby in the hard light of day. This is important because nowadays people want more light when they eat. You could use a classic type of flooring like oak parquet. The simpler cleaner designs suit wood floors, which work well in restaurants because they are light and easy to keep clean. These floors are also bright, and easily repaired should they become damaged.
On the other hand there is one disadvantage, which is important in a cosy restaurant where people go for quiet tete-a-tetes. And that is that wood reflects the noise much more than carpet. This is not such a problem in a busy bar, but can be in a more up-market restaurant. One solution is to use full length curtains and carpet wall coverings for part of the wall. Another solution is to divide the restaurant up into different areas with booths for groups of four. This also helps absorb noise.
There are a number of different hardwoods you can use such as handscraped hardwood flooring which is fashionable. Another good one is walnut. The important thing is that you choose a hardwood floor because this will be much more durable than a soft wood floor like pine.
If you choose any hardwood flooring you will enhance the appeal of your restaurant, and keep the ‘in crowd’ coming. In other words, wood flooring can increase your profits.
