Reasons Not To Use Article Spinning Software

If you are thinking about using Article Spinning software because you have just read a glowing testimonial on a squeeze page well it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee. Everyone is looking for that magic pill that will simplify their online marketing and propel them to the top of Google’s rankings. But like every other over hyped SEO trick geared to game search engine algorithms, article spinners in my opinion offer little benefit.

The squeeze page promised that that article spinning is simple and all the smiley faced video testimonials agree. It’s a eureka moment, you have just stumbled on the best way to reduce the time and effort you currently spend on article marketing. “it’s an investment which pays for itself” that has to be true because the website says so.

Unfortunately it’s just cleverly worded hype aimed at convincing you to purchase another useless product. The most effective thing about article spinning is the marketing expertise used to market the product, not the product itself. Article spinning software isn’t all it is cracked up to be and there are a few reasons why you should think carefully about using it.

It’s An Article Jim, But Not As We Know It

Early article spinners came with a built in thesaurus and with a few click of a mouse would start spinning away quite merrily; the results are often hilarious and often look like they have been translated from Klingon. But it won’t impress your target audience or do much for your credibility or that of your company or the products you are trying to market. Sure it might get you ranked in Google, but let’s face it, nobody is going to read that crap never mind act upon it. Even though article spinning has moved on, there are still mountains of this stuff being uploaded to the web every day.

Article Spinning and Readability, Copyscape and Google’s Duplicate Content Penalty

It would be great if you could produce multiple articles that were truly readable and grammatically correct. Yes that would be tempting, well the latest breed of article spinning software can do just that, in fact they have become so sophisticated that spun articles can even pass Copyscape’s plagiarism test. This has spawned the belief that article spinning will also defeat Google’s duplicate content filter, but there are many reasons to believe this is not so. Rather than reiterate what has already been said, I suggest you read Article Spinning or Article Sinning which outlines the reasons why spun articles may still get tagged as duplicate content.

The Ethics Of Article Spinning

Is article spinning ethical? Yes, if you are spinning your own articles then there is nothing unethical about it. If you are using it to spin PLR articles then we start to get into a grey area. However, it is completely unethical for someone to steal and spin someone else’s content and pass it off as their own.

My Final Un-spun Words

Rather than looking for a way to increase quantity, focus on providing original, high quality information that your target market will find useful. Forget about article spinning,
