Learn about Signs and Symptoms of Pregnancy

For most women, a missed or uncommon period is accepted as a sign of pregnancy. Within the first week of being impregnated, some women will notice early pregnancy symptoms. Not all women will experience early warning signs of pregnancy for a few weeks and maybe not even then.  Always contact your doctor when having any symptoms of being pregnant or weight gain during pregnancy.

After conception, in about 6-12 days the embryo imbeds itself into the uterine wall. When this happens some women will experience some cramping and a little spotting. When a sexually active women has a missed or late menstrual period she needs to get a pregnancy test. After a women becomes pregnant she will be missing her next normal period. If the woman continues to have a period during the pregnancy, it will be very different than she normally has as it will be much lighter and not for very long.

Somewhere in the first or second week after impregnation the breasts of the woman will be sensitive and engorged. The dark skin around the nipples will become even darker. Fatigue is a symptom that begins in the first week after becoming pregnant. Your doctor should always be given a call asap when having any pregnancy questions.

Morning sickness is probably one of the most common symptoms and may continue during the whole pregnancy. Most women will have morning sickness anywhere from two to eight weeks but other will never have nausea. Another usual symptom is lower back aches in early pregnancy and usually continues for the rest of the time as a dull ache. Headaches may result from the changing hormones in the beginning of the pregnancy.

  Having to make several trips to the bathroom to urinate is yet another sign of early pregnancy that will begin about six weeks into the pregnancy. Food cravings begin to emerge signaling pregnancy. Even though most of the unusual longings that are experienced through the length of the time the women is pregnant, it may not be as strange as pickles with ice cream. The most important thing to consider is that if you think you are pregnant there are many home tests you can use but the best thing for your safety and that of your baby is a visit to your doctor..
