-Spend a day at Kailua(one of US’s best beaches) kayaking
-Spend a day at the Polynesian culture center. There u explore different tribes such as Hawaii, Fiji, New Zeland, Samoa etc (Lean drumming techniques, dances, watch luaus and shows)
-Take a ride on the Honolulu screamer
-Spend a day at Hawaiian Waters Adventures (buy u tickets at Costco on the island where they are $10 cheaper.)
-Go Horseback riding or ATV ing at Kalua Ranch (this is where Jurassic park and episodes of Lost have been filmed)
-Jump into the Shark Cage (I’m not joking, its worth it)
-explore north shore and visit turtle bay and turtle bay resort (forgetting Sarah Marshall was filmed there)
-Spend a day at pearl harbor
-Go to the Ala Moana Mall
-Hit the Waikiki strip at night where there’s lots of shopping, street entertainment and the International Market Place
-Hit the Beaches (Waikiki, Makapu’u, Waimea Bay, Sandy)

-La Coucaracha (great Mexican food)
-Cheesecake Factory (pricey but u will get ur moneys worth, food is great, plates are huge and they make the BEST cheesecake ever, just go for the Cheesecake if u don’t want to spend much)

Don’t bother to rent a car there is no free parking on the island . Get the Roberts transfer bus to your hotel they sell a round trip back to the airport. The yellow city buses go every place and only cost like $2.00 a ride . You will want to do the USS Arizona Memorial , The Battleship Missouri , The Submarine next to it. that will be a whole day. There is the Bishop museum , the Dole pineapple plantation , there is a small shopping mall where some high school students do a close order drill and Hawaiian flag raising ceremony it is only a block from the beach. There is the Polynesian Cultural Center which is like a whole day event your hotel desk person should be able to get you discount tickets. There is every kind of restaurant imaginable from burger king, McDonald’s, take out oriental , to white table cloth places . just depends what your taste and wallet like. There is Diamond Head if you like hiking there is a hiking trail to the top of Diamond Head . There is Sandy Beach where the movie “From here to eternity ” shot the beach scene with Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr . That is a about 30 minutes north of Diamond Head. There is Haleeva (I think i spelled it wrong ) way up on the north end of the Island where the serious surfing is done . There is the Fort Derussy Army museum , next to the Hale Koa hotel which is a servicemans hotel . I am sure that other people will come up with more things to do

Try looking around Taos, New Mexico. I have some good friends who vacation there all the time. I know they have some bed and breakfast inns there, because they’ve stayed in one. It’s a beautiful area.
I also like San Antonio…there’s lots of neat places on the Riverwalk. My hubby and I spent a long weekend there and really enjoyed it.

OMGoodness Paula your in luck, I am from New Mexico. Have you heard of Santa Fe, its a nice little city in NM, they have this place called Ten Thousand Waves. Its a little spa place and its so nice. You could rent a hotel any place or stay there, but its kinda pricey. But they have a spa for the both of you, and outside private jacuzzi tub, they do massages. Everything its really really nice. Also, if you want to go to Albuquerque. that is where I am from, we have a new Casion Hotel called Sandia Casino or the Tamaya Resort. They are both really nice hotels. You will honestly feel like your in vegas, nice resturants, massages, golfling. Its really nice… try to look them up in the web. GOOD LUCK.

There are lots of fun things for a child in Hawaii. The Dole Plantation, though a bit of a tourist trap, is very enjoyable. There is a place called Valley of the Temples on the Eastern or Windward side of the island and it has a replica of the Byodo-In Temple. There is a huge Koi pond and the kids can feed the fish and ring the giant gong. There is a resort here called Ko’Olina and they have four lagoons which are easy for a child to learn to swim in. The water is generally warmer too and you do not have to be a resort guest to swim there, as there are no private beaches in Hawaii. Waikiki is expensive and can wear you out. It’s mostly shopping..UNLESS you want to learn to surf. You can take surfing lessons in Waikiki and I’m sure while one of you is learning the other can hang out at the beach. I also recommend some kind of portable pop up shelter to keep the little one out of the sun because it is brutal here! The Big Island is very laid back too but the beaches on Oahu are better. You might also try the Polynesian Cultural Center. There is a huge luau and live performances. My friends brought her little girl here and she loved the beach and the shaved ice the best =) And rent a car, staying down in Waikiki is boring!

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Don’t cheat yourself out of the “big thing”, you will always regret it. It does not have to be expensive, you can have your ceremony in a church, and just not have a formal affair. If you schedule your ceremony around a religous holiday, there will already be flowers and decorations. You can have just a cake and punch affair in the church entry way. As for the get away, go on expedia or cheap trips and look for last minute deals.. we have gotten some fantastic deals.

There is a lot for families to do though a toddler can be a little more challenging. Here are some resort suggestions for you that have toddler pools, activities and baby sitting services so you can both learn to surf together (do you really want to go seperately?)

Also if you go to Oahu there is a water park, great zoo, aquarium, sea life park and more that are great choices for a small child! Wakiki is great with a sheltered area for small children, and a wonderful break to learn to surf on!

David gave you some excellent choices, just so you know most of the nice Hotels and Resorts offer Keiki Camp (Kiddie Camp/Day Care), you may want to look into that option if you are so inclined to have a day or two with just your husband and yourself…

If you go to the Dole pineapple Pavillian, they have a miniture train ride that takes you around the pineapple fields.

Right in Waikiki is the Zoo.

In the middle of the International Marketplace at the food court, they have a free Hawaiian show at around 7pm or so, almost every night. The entrance is next to the Beachcomber Hotel.

Well Hawaii ig definately the best place to go . It isn’t too expensive. My husband and I had a full 8 day vacation to Maui the best place for honeymoon , so quiet and relaxing for like $2,000 only. We will never forget the beauty of Maui , A lifetime memory: )
